Everyone who stays at the Motorhome & US RV Show gets a copy of this on arrival but we thought it might be useful to have a look through before you get there...

Thanks for coming to the Motorhome & US RV Show. The exhibition is open 9.30am-6pm Friday and Saturday and 9.30am-5pm on Sunday. This information is provided to help make your stay more enjoyable. We feel sure you will appreciate the range of motorhomes and accessories on display. All the dealers exhibiting are ‘national’ so wherever you are from they will be pleased to help and advise you. All official traders will be wearing our ribbon trade tags. This is for your protection.


YOUR PITCH - Because of the size of the showground, do make a note of where you are.  We would appreciate it if any private gatherings around your motorhome finish at midnight at the latest. There are elsan disposal outlets on the showground - marked on the plan -  please use only these. Awnings are allowed.


DOGS - Dogs are allowed but must be kept on leads and walked away from the camping areas. The showground is now designated a ‘clean site’ so please pick up your dog mess. In case of emergencies the local vet is - Shepton Mallet Vetinary Centre, Allyn Saxon Drive, Shepton Mallet. Tel: 01749 343955.


LAKE & RIVER - Please be careful around these areas and be sure to carry a torch if walking around the showground at night.

Smoking - Please note, this is a non-smoking venue. No smoking within any of the buildings.


POLICE/EMERGENCY - Dial 999


MEDICAL The Medical Centre is located just inside the main gate, or dial 01749 822206 from any phone or payphone on site - this will connect you directly with the Medical Centre.

Please ensure that if you call for an emergency ambulance you inform the Medical Centre straight away - tel: 01749 822206 - who will liaise with us so that the ambulance can be directed straight to you.

a) Please give the correct address to the emergency services. This is - The Royal Bath & West Showground, A371, Shepton Mallet, Somerset BA4 6QN. 

b) Give the location of your motorhome, using the grid map on this information sheet, for example E22 is part of the Caravan Club area.

c) Get help from your club marshal or neighbours and draw attention to your motorhome by putting your hazard lights on or sounding the horn to make it easier for the emergency ambulance to find you.


PRIVATE ‘FOR SALE’ SIGNS -  It is a condition of entry  that ‘For Sale’ signs on private vehicles are not allowed. Local by-laws forbid trading in the car parks.


JOY RIDING - ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN ON SITE.


SHOP - You can purchase fresh milk, eggs, bread, papers etc from the shop, the location of which is shown on your plan.  Shop Opening Times - Thursday 4pm-8pm : Friday 8am-8pm : Saturday 8am-8pm : Sunday 8am-5pm.


GAS SUPPLIES - Available from the compound near the main entrance, or use their pay and deliver service. Please make sure you give precise location details when ordering. Opening times:- Friday 12 noon-2pm, 6.30pm-8pm, plus drive around service.  Saturday 8.30am-9.30am. 12 noon-2pm, 5pm-7pm, plus drive around service. Sunday 8.30am-9.30am, 12 noon-2pm, plus drive around service. Monday 8.30am-9.30am. 


FOOD & DRINK - Bars & Restaurant open as follows -

Thursday - Bar open 6pm-10pm. Restaurant 4pm-10pm. One general mobile unit open 11am-8pm.

Friday - Snacks, beverages and meals will be available in the Upstairs Westex Suite from 10am-5pm, 6pm-9pm with the bar open from 11am-3pm and 6pm - 11pm. Bar in the Showering Pavilion open from 7pm until midnight.

Saturday - Food will be available in the Upstairs Westex Suite from 10am-5pm, 6pm-9pm. Bars open 11am-3pm and 6pm-11pm. Bar in the Showering Pavilion open from 7pm until midnight.

Sunday - Snacks, beverages, meals etc will be available from 10am-4pm and Bar from 12 noon-3pm. Please note only food and drink bought in the bar/restaurant may be consumed on the premises.


ENTERTAINMENT

Friday -  Entertainment In the Showering Pavilion from approx. 8.pm. 


Saturday Teatime - Childrens entertainment from 5pm-6pm in the Upstairs Westex suite. As usual, parents are welcome.


Saturday Evening - In the Showering Pavilion at 7.30pm we shall be presenting the MOTORHOME OF THE YEAR awards and introducing the lucky winners. From approx. 8.00pm  it ‘s cabaret time. Bars in the Showering Pavilion and Upstair Westex will be open from 7pm-midnight. 


FIREWORKS -  Always a highlight of the show, the display on Saturday evening will start at approximately 9.30pm. Listen for the maroon, the display starts five minutes later. Please ensure pets are comfortable and safe during the display. Do not stand downwind and beware of debris. No awnings should be out near the display area.


COURTESY BUS - A  free shuttle service will run from the showground to Wells and back on Friday and Saturday. There will be two coaches leaving the main entrance at 10am and  then a continuous shuttle of one bus, with the last return journey from Wells commencing at 5pm.


TAXIS - Valley Cars. Tel: 01749 343888. There is a Freephone Taxi line in the Showering Pavilion foyer next to the vending machines.


ORGANISERS’ OFFICE - Situated on the edge of the main ring in the commentary box. 


COACH TRIPS - We have organised coaches to take visitors around the surrounding countryside on Friday and Saturday. There is no charge but they are on a strictly first come first served basis. Pick-up point is at the main entrance to the showground.

FRIDAY       - Tour leaves at 2pm (one coach) 

SATURDAY - Tour leaves at 11am (one coach) and 2pm (two coaches).

There is now a small steam railway on site with rides at £1 per person.


COMPETITIONS - On Sunday morning we shall be holding four competitions in the Downstairs Westex Suite at 11am (set up 10.30am)  in which you are invited to participate. They are - Best Cake, Best Knitted Item,  Best Craft Item (ladies) and Best Craft Item (gents) - judges decision is final. On the Bandstand Green (behind the grandstand) judging at 1pm will be the Best Groomed Pet. Prizes -1st £25 cash, 2nd £15 and Third £10. 

All work submitted must have been completed within the last two years and must not have been submitted for judging at a previous rally

BEST CAKE - Colour, texture and taste etc.

BEST CRAFT ITEM - The best of anything!  Separate categories for ladies and gents (1st and 2nd only in these two categories).

BEST KNITTED ITEM - The judge will be looking for original thought, pattern and knitting skill.

BEST GROOMED PET- This will be judged purely on appearance.  Any pet is allowed.  Judging will take place on the Bandstand Green (behind the grandstand)  - 12.30pm for 1pm.

Do support these activities and see the high standard of knitting, crocheting, craft and cake making skills your fellow motor caravanners have and how well they look after their pets.
